Hi! I’m Kelly Ghilarducci! I’m a professional, advanced hair stylist, cosmetologist, and licensed barber. I founded A Shear Thing in 2020, in Pleasanton, CA—one of the good things to come out of COVID-19!

My main goal is to ensure that you, my clients, leave my salon feeling your absolute best. I strive to demonstrate that your appointment is all about you: what style you want, what looks best, and what will make you feel your most confident. You are the most important people in the world to me: I often feel like I get paid to work with good friends.

My Story

In high school, I was a massive science geek, so much so, that when I hit college, I took two years of Pre-Med to become a cardiologist. To make money in college, I started cutting hair. After Pre-Med, I quickly realized that I loved cutting hair and it was my true passion. I’ve been cutting hair for 30 years now.
